Get Your Free Depth Of Field Guide

Depth of field is the distance between the nearest and farthest objects in your image that are in focus.

It’s the difference between having the subject in focus with everything else out of focus, and having the subject and substantial portions of the background in focus.

The Aperture is an opening in your lens, and you can vary the size of the aperture opening to change how much light you capture for a photo, but the size of the aperture also affects the depth of field because the size changes how the light is focused by the lens.

In this video I’m going to explain how the size of the aperture affects the focusing of the light and share with you my super simple trick for remembering what aperture setting to use when trying to control your depth of field.

Your camera is an amazing tool, but it’s no good to you if you don’t know how to use it!
