Part of what I love about photography is the creativity that goes into creating amazing portrait lighting, and this week I wanted to share with you one of my favorite portraits, and breakdown exactly how I created it.
I’ve always love BOTH Star Wars and Star Trek, so when my friend Chloë told me she had this great Star Trek Redshirt dress I knew we were in for some fun.
It took some doing, but we came up with an amazing photo that captured both the spirit of Star Trek, and the imminent danger the Redshirts are in whenever they go planetside!

I used to be scared of my flash, and I understand how intimidating flash photography can be, but a flash is just a tool. Once you understand how that tool works you’ll be using your flash to create photos that used to seem impossible.
