The video shows what it looked like right after the storm. My wife and I were in the porch right before the tree fell. We had heard a small branch being blown onto our roof, and she said, “I think we’re gonna have some roof damage.”
I looked at her and said, “Get in the basement.”
As soon as we walked out of the porch the tree snapped off and fell on the porch.
The tree was an ash, and we had just had it treated against the Emerald Ash Borer to try to keep the tree. I guess that was money wasted. 🤷♂️

I couldn’t even get into the garage to get the car. We ended up borrowing my step father’s in-law truck until we could get the tree cleared. You can also see the electrical service wire tangled up in the tree.

The bent electrical mast. I’m surprised we only lost power for a couple hours the night of the storm.

Here’s a closer look at the roof damage after the tree has been cleared. All in all we were very lucky. It could have been so much worse, and we count ourselves lucky. Nobody was hurt, and the damage could have been so much worse had the tree fallen more directly on the house.
