Photographers are tinkerers and problem solvers at heart, and with that comes a strong do it yourself ethos.
So when it came time to make a grid for my speedlights, the first thing I tried was what you’ll find in hundreds of videos all over YouTube, which was to make it out of straws.
That was the shittiest DIY ever. It immediately fell apart, and I immediately developed a new solution that makes the construction easier, gives you better light control AND is way easier and faster to make.
